A
new part of the ISO 14644 series is in development – ‘ISO/DIS 14644-17
Cleanrooms
and associated controlled environments -- Part 17: Particle deposition rate
applications’.
The
new document can be used as a standard in combination with the existing
cleanroom standards (ISO 14644 and ISO 14698), and completes coverage of the
range of particles that can cause unwanted surface contamination.
The
focus is with the particle deposition rate level (PDRL), which is the particle
deposition rate (cumulative number of particles per sqm per hour) times the
observed particle size D divided by 10.
