The
introduction to the book explains its purpose:
“This
book was written to help the readers with the measurements they perform. The intent
is to help the readers and their organizations determine the most appropriate activities
that ensure the quality of their measurements. We hope this book provides the
readers with a framework in which to place their own activities.
This
book serves as a generic introduction to calibration. We discuss the rationale behind
calibration, and the factors that affect the need to calibrate. The book also provides
some specific information on calibration of relative humidity, dewpoint temperature,
temperature, and barometric pressure.”
