How Cholera Deaths of the Past Could Shine a Blue Light of Hope

Cholera remains an important cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. It is currently in its seventh official pandemic, as recognized by the World Health Organization.

In relation to this important disease, Tim Sandle has written a new short paper on the latest cholera research. The paper looks at how the ancient origins of the disease can inform about cases today.

Sandle writes: "Understanding cholera epidemics and pandemics requires an appreciation of the ecology of the disease; this could be enhanced from fining out more about its origins."
