In relation to volume 42 (2), dated Mar – Apr 2016, the following is of interest to readers:
Chapter 856 Near-Infrared Spectroscopy [planned new chapter]
(Revision proposal target, USP40-NF35 1st Supplement)
This chapter is being revised to address the comments received requesting guidance on handheld instruments. The USP General Chapters Chemical Analysis Expert Committee is considering the possibility of including this topic in the chapter but will need time to discuss this; therefore, this revision does not include any guidance on handheld instruments. USP stakeholders also requested guidance on multivariate calibrations since the chapter focuses on the univariate approach only. USP proposed a new chapter, Chemometrics .
