Dental Practices: Robust infection prevention

SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19, is a coronavirus belonging to the family of viruses which cause the common cold as well as more severe diseases, including Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The main transmission mechanism for COVID-19 is by close contact with infected secretions. It is thought to occur mainly through respiratory droplets generated by coughing and sneezing, and through contact with contaminated surfaces.
