The Australian guidance for disinfectant products has been updated that meet the definition of a listed disinfectant.
Listed disinfectants make specific claims, as outlined in the claim guide, and must be included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) and meet all requirements as set out in the applicable legislation.
By disinfectants this means products:
- · Not intended for use internally or on skin
- · Not intended for use on a medical device
- · Are intended for use on inanimate objects such as hard and soft surfaces (for example curtains, floors, bench tops, lounge furniture and carpets)
