Microbiology and Sterility Assurance in Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices is a comprehensive text book that I edited with Madhu Raju Saghee and Edward Tidswell. The book was published by Business Horizons in 2011.
Our aim was create the most comprehensive text for microbiologists, regulatory and quality personnel to cover the subject of pharmaceutical microbiology and sterility assurance (across 33 chapters). The book was designed to provide an introductory text for students and those new to the industry and to provide a useful aid for the more experienced practitioner with which to compare their own approaches or policies, and to act as a useful reference aid.
The book is aimed at the pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare and medical device sectors and universities teaching related courses, as well as industrial and applied biology. The book balances practical approaches with a sound scientific understanding; and covers traditional (classical) methods with new and emerging technologies.
I'm pleased to announce that the book has now become part of the essential reading for a pharmaceutical microbiology course run by Centennial College (Ontario, Canada), as part of their 'Biotechnology Technician/Technologist - Industrial Microbiology' program (here).
