FDA’s Stephen Ostroff on antibiotic stewardship



FDA acting commissioner Stephen Ostroff has “emphasized the critical importance of fighting anti-microbial resistance by encouraging the development of new antibiotics and diagnostics, combating false and substandard medicines, and discouraging inappropriate prescribing of disease treatments.”

In suggesting a greater international role for FDA, Ostroff has set out his thoughts in a feature published in Applied Clinical Trials.
